Episode 11

Ah Yuet and Yan Sou Will Sever 'Relations'

Yuk Lou's imagination receives high praise from Ah Yuet as well. Ah Yuet loves the magnifying glass so much that he can't let it go.
The group were discussing how a married couple would catch diseases from one another when they discover that Ah Yuet and Yan Sou had a boil at the same spot. Nim Chi covers up for the two while Yuk Lou seemed to know everything already. The group breathed a sigh of relief.

Ah Yuet had wanted to buy a magnifying glass that can burn fire-wood branches under sunlight but Yuk Lou wouldn't let him. The vendor teases Ah Yuet for being afraid of his own wife.

Nim Fu buys the magnifying glass and acts full of himself at Dung Mat Yuen. Unfortuately, 'uncle' Cheung takes it to swat something while Ah Yuet says a bunch of useless words. In the end, Ah Yuet buys a magnifying glass and asks Yan Sou to watch over it for him.

Ah Yuet secretly goes to Yan Sou's room to play with the magnifying glass. Ah Yat and Ying Gei follow him and hear the dialogue about him wanting to "start a raging fire over dry fire-wood". They sigh, saying that Yan Sou is a wonton woman.

Nim Chi is also suspicious about the two having an 'affair' and after getting the confirmation from Ah Yat and Ying Gei, feels very vexed about Yan Sou getting 'trampled' by Ah Yuet as well as feeling guilty over the whole thing. Ah Yat suggests that Ah Yuet should divorce his wife and remarry but gets scolded by Nim Chi for avenging a personal wrong in the name of public interest.

Ying Gei suggests that Ah Yuet should take Yan Sou as his concubine and wonders if Nim Fu has any outside affairs. But when Yuk Lou is asked about the concubine question, she thinks up a long list of venomous measures, scaring Nim Chi and the others.

Nim Chi had no choice but to question Ah Yuet and Yan Sou, who readily admit to their 'special relationship' and even agree to end it. Nim Chi feels relieved.

Ah Yuet tries to resell the magnifying glass back to the vendor and finds out that the story about there were only two magnifying glasses in the whole city was a lie.

Yuk Lou asks Yat Yeung Chi to look at the Fung Sui of the family. He comments that Nim Chi has a good lifeline while Ah Yat's lifeline was bad. Ah Yat was angry that Yuk Lou was making fun of her and suddenly reveals that ...

Episode 12

Ah Yat is Choosy and Can't Get Married

Ah Yat finds it hard to bring up a matter and has no choice but to use her fingers to point things out. What characters are engraved on the hair pin?
Ah Yat reveals that truth about Ah Yuet and Yan Sou's 'affair', making Yuk Lou angry and anxious at the same time. She asks everyone in the room about it but to no effect. She decides to ask Ah Yuet himself. Yuk Lou hears Ah Yuet complementing Yan Sou as 'pretty and smooth' and gets extremely jealous. She opens the door to the room and grabs the hair pin that was in Ah Yuet's hands. (The following isn't in the summary, but this is what happens next: Thinking that the hairpin is for Yan Sou, Yuk Lou immediately crushes it to pieces. She then asks the pair about the so called affair they were having. Ah Yuet and Yan Sou are very surprised and he explains why he was spending so much time with Yan Sou. Ah Yuet also tells everyone in the room that the hairpin was for Yuk Lou and had her name engraved on it. After all that explaining, the rumors of an 'affair' between Ah Yuet and Yan Sou ends)

Nim Fu wins much money at gambling but his luck seems to run out when Dai Chuen joins them. Nim Fu ends up losing everything. Fortunately, Ah Yuet gives him 5 taels and he ends up winning money as well as the breach between the two ends.

Ah Yuet buys roasted duck to give to Yuk Lou but Ah Yat eats some of it, not knowing who it was for. Yuk Lou savagely curses Ah Yat, saying that she'll never get married.

Nim Chi and the others have a headache over choosing the men for Ah Yat to meet. The reason why was because Ah Yat is extremely picky.

They think up a plan for Ah Yat to 'accidentally bump' into Mr Chui, one of the choices, at Dung Mat Yuen. Ah Yat sees that Mr Chui had problems with his speech and although the group all complemented him, she secretly tells him to 'give up' on any hopes of marrying her. Nim Chi is worried that Ah Yat would be an old spinster and Yuk Lou comments that she'll never find a husband.

Ying Gei's cousin brings an invite for a happy occasion. She says that although she wasn't pretty, the prediction by Bun Yat Sin that she will get married before age 34 came true. Ah Yat seemed to scold her for being superstitious, she secretly went to see Bun Yat Sin herself to ask about the marriage hopes for a 'close relative'.

After seeing the birthday of the person in question, Bun Yat Sin says that she puts herself on a high pedestal while overestimating her own abilities. He also says that she isn't the prettiest woman out in the world as well as being very rude in her speech. Ah Yat gets very angry at his words. Bun Yat Sin adds that this 'close relative' may die young and it would be difficult for her to marry unless she meets the man of her dreams in July. If this marriage doesn't work either, then she'll live out the rest of her days alone.

Bun Yat Sin's Predictions Come True

Ah Yat does have a calamity involving death. Yi Hong is so poor that he has only one pair of clothing.
Ah Yat calculates the dates that Bun Yat Sin had given and discovers that she only has three days to find her future husband or she'll never get married. Bun Yat Sin says that she should be very careful because there might be a calamity involving death that might happen to her as well as to avoid horses at all cost. Ah Yat doesn't believe him and immediately trips on the floor as well as getting her finger injured. This causes her to act frightened when she hears anything with the word horse after returning home. Everyone else thought that she was acting strangely.

Lui Pau and the poorest scholar in Chi Lik Gung Jan, Gou Yi Hong, each accuse the other of stealing their treasured white tiger skin and they go to Ah Nin's court. He asks both of them their stories and get two different answers.

Yi Hong says that the tiger skin was his father's family heirloom so no matter how poor he got, he would never pawn it away. Ah Nin decides to end the questioning so he can search for evidence to solve this latest case.

Ah Nin and Ah Biu personally visit Yi Hong's home to look for evidence. They discover that he truly was very poor. Ah Nin first looks at the place where Yi Hong keeps his tiger skin then goes to Lui Pau's medicine shop to look there. A lady asks buys some poison to kill some white ants from Lui Pau and giving Ah Nin a valuable clue in the case. (This isn't in the summary: The case was solved by Ah Nin, who realized that Lui Pau was lying about the white tiger skin belonging to him. He proves this by showing that the skin in question had white ants all over it. Lui Pau owns a medicine shop that sells poison that would kill those ants. If he owned that tiger skin, it would be ant free, like the other skins he owns. Yi Hong's place, meanwhile, has white ants running amuck in the spot where he said he kept the skin)

During the last two days, Ah Yat only slept and ate. She became fatter and was teased by Ah Nin and Ah Yuet. Bun Yat Sin's prediction came true once again when Ah Yat's brothers had an argument while playing chess and Ah Yat gets hit by one of the pieces. That piece happened to be one of them that were marked 'horse'. Ah Yat secretly sighs, thinking that Bun Yat Sin's predictions were all coming true and is very worried about her future.

Nim Chi refuses the suggested 'husband' for Ah Yat by the matchmaker, Wong Po. But when she finds out that he was their friend, Mr. Tong, Nim Chi asks for him to go to Dung Mat Yuen for a reunion. Ah Yat hears about this and decides to try her best to seduce him to marry her. She dresses up fancily and pretends to bump into the group at the restaurant.

Episode 14

Ah Yat and Yi Hong Meet

Nim Chi is looking at Dai Yan Lau's sale menu. Is it good or bad that Nim Fu sympathizes with Ching Bo?
A sudden gust of wind blasts Ah Yat and Chun Mui when they were walking in the streets. The wind also blows away the painting that Yi Hong, who was selling his drawings, was drawing right into Ah Yat's face. When she removed it, her face was marked with black ink and looked ugly. She yells at Yi Hong in anger.

Yi Hong looks at the messed up painting and decides to make use of the marked up spots and made a new drawing out of it. Ah Nin sees the drawing and complements Yi Hong on his abilities then buys it from him.

Dung Mat Yuen's rival Dai Yan Lau has a sale and Nim Fu is very happy. Nim Chi scolds him and says that he should be more modest. Because there was a shortage of workers at Dung Mat Yuen, Nim Fu secretly goes looking for more workers.

Dai Chuen and Ching Bo bump into each other on the street and have an argument. Dai Chuen was yelling loudly while Ching Bo seemed pitiful. Nim Fu sees this and helps Ching Bo argue with Dai Chuen, who felt a bit guilty and leaves. Ching Bo talks about how his manager was cruel to him while picking up the broken eggs. Nim Fu has an idea and asks Ching Bo to work at Dung Mat Yuen. (The summary originally says that he asked him to work at Dai Yan Lau, which didn't make any sense. Why would he ask him to work at the rival restaurant?) Ching Bo is a hard worker and is even better than Ah *** .

Ah Yat arrives at Ah Tai's pork shop to eat some boiled dumplings. She accidentally places Yi Hong's artwork into the fire (he's there to get some pork oil) and he immediately goes to attempt to save them. In the end, Ah Yat leaves without apologizing and Yi Hong feels very bad.

Chun Mui prepares some sesame shortening for Ah Biu and meets a sex fiend while bringing it to him. Ah Biu arrives and hits the fiend until he hardly looked human.

He asks Chun Mui to fix some of his old clothes and give them to Yi Hong, who had only one pair. Ah Sau helps Chun Mui with the clothes and his sewing is excellent. Chun Mui complements him, saying that he'll surely have a happy marriage. Unfortunately, she didn't know that he was an eunuch!

Nim Fu hides in the noodle room, making noodles. Ching Bo is there, carefully helping him.

Nim Chi's feels that something is wrong because she felt funny all day. As she feared, Dung Mat Yuen had trouble.

There's Something Wrong with the Noodles at Dung Mat Yuen

Ah Yuet's face feel itchy and painful. Is Nim Fu really going to eat the noodles? Even Ying Gei is suspicious.
The food at Dung Mat Yuen had problems and the people who ate them all developed skin irritations. Ah Yuet's face had red dots all over and they were very itchy and painful. After Ah Nin and Nim Chi talked it over, they decided that the noodles that Nim Fu made was the cause. Nim Fu denies it brazenly and to prove his innocence, he agrees to eat the noodles he made. But the sneaky Nim Fu finally decides to have Ying Gei test the noodles.

Ying Gei eats the whole bowl of noodles without a second thought. To express his gratitude, Nim Fu picks a random flower and gives it to her. Ying Gei starts to feel her face begin to sprout red marks and thought that it was caused by bees stinging her. Nim Fu and Ying Gei go to their room to hide but Yuk Lou saw the whole thing.

Nim Fu goes to the kitchen to order the people around. Nim Chi tells him to go buy ingredients to send him away while Ching Bo overhears their conversation. While at Hoi Mei Pou, Nim Fu meets with the owner of Dai Yan Lau, Mr. Dai. Nim Fu comments that Mr. Dai was buying expensive ingredients when he had no patrons and how easy it is for him to lose money. Mr. Dai asks him to work at Dai Yan Lau and Nim Fu refuses.

When Nim Fu went to the restroom, he accidentally discovers his noodles thrown into the bucket. He angrily says that Nim Chi and the others are insulting him. Nim Chi suggests that he should make the noodles in front of the patrons but Nim Fu refuses to do so. The two end up arguing and falling out of favor with each other.

Nim Fu no longer had to go to work and felt bored and lazy. He went vacationing with Ying Gei, who later asks Yuk Lou and the others to play Mahjong. The other women use the idea that men and women shouldn't touch to refuse to let Nim Fu play with them. Nim Fu thinks of a plan and later plays too, winning a lot of money. He takes Ying Gei on a shopping spree and goes to Dai Yan Lau to make snide comments about their noodles. In the end, he gets beat up.
