Gam Nin dares to play a joke on the Princess? | Gam Nin's writing infuriates the Princess. |
Dai Yan Lou
(literally: Adult Building) has just opened it's doors for business. A

clever trick to get rid of that patron.
Gam Yat and her sister-in-law Yuk Lou have a fight over what animal to release for the triplet's (Gam Nin, Gam Yuet and Gam Yat) birthday. Nim Chi decides to handle that herself. Gam Nin waits out the rain in a temple and cleverly helped an old 'uncle' find the true thief who stole his money pouch. He also offends the princess, who was dressed as a common person, along with the eunuch Siu Yuen. (aka Ah Sau... don't know why they used Siu Yuen in the summary though) Gam Nin originally decided to turn in a blank scroll in the examination for the Princess's future husband but he carelessly drops the scroll which satirizes the Princess. This leads to his calamity of being demoted in rank. Nim Chi, along with Ah Yuet and his wife, Ah Yat and Nim Fu and his wife, go to the riverside to release a fish. Each person separately curses anyone who catches the fish to eat. Ying Gei foolishly catches the fish and serves it to the family at dinner, thus cursing the whole family ... |

Common Village of Pool Power) to be a Ji Yuen. (a lowly governor for a

birthday with everyone present.

He doesn't feel offended by this and actually feels happy that he can return to serve his hometown as well as being with his family. Ah Nin goes to the government office with his old friend Sek Biu but discovers that the guards there are lazy, the windows are broken in the rooms and the roof tiles are breaking. Even more, the guards place the responsiblity to the conditions there to the other person, causing Ah Nin much distress. During dinner, the sounds of a thunderstorm is heard. Ah Nin suddenly leaves by himself, his thoughts on the conditions at his office. Fearing that he couldn't take the blow from being demoted and may be going out to do something foolish, his family hurriedly investigates. They find that his room is filled with crumpled papers and all of them have the four characters 'Duen Chi Yu Sang'. (translation: Ending This Extra Life) They quickly go to the government office to investigate and are terrified to see Ah Nin hanging from a wooden beam. |

She scolds Nim Fu for taking advantage of the fact that she wasn't there to make decisions without her knowledge. Sek Mei angrily goes to see Nim Fu, but leaves when Nim Chi protects him with her life. There was no outlet for the pork so Dai Chuen and his family used it to make jerky. The children didn't understand why Dai Chuen and Nim Fu hated each other so much. Dai Chuen remembers the time when he accidentally married Chan Giu due to Nim Fu's antics and sighs. Nim Chi wanted to end the contract with Chu Yuk Gwai. He asks for twenty thousand taels before he would dissolve the contract. Nim Chi knows that Chu Yuk Gwai is a rascal and decides to use a even more scoundrelly idea to fight him. Nim Chi and Ying Gei trick Chu Yuk Gwai's wife into thinking that he went to a prostitute's house. With Nim Fu's help, they plant false evidence on Chu Yuk Gwai. His wife, believing it to be true, tearfully asks Nim Chi for help. Ying Gei tells a lie about the 'Wu Lei Jau' (literally: Fox Curse) and that if you can burn the curse, then your husband will return to you. She also tells Chu Yuk Gwai's wife how to find the curse on her husband. His wife follows their advice and burns the contract when Chu Yuk Gwai had left the room, thinking it was the curse. Chu Yuk Gwai increases the amount to thirty thousand taels before he would end the contract when Nim Chi asks him again. Nim Chi answers that she will only pay eighty taels. He tries to take out the contract so they can settle their differences in court, but finds that he no longer had the contract. In the end, he angrily leaves.
